Stay classy San Diego.

It has been so so so long since I last posted, and for that I do apologise! My life has been hectic to say the least with Uni, assignments, exams, flamenco, work (I’m a piano teacher) and an 8th grade piano exam! However, I have just started holidays, so that leaves plenty of opportunities to post..regularly…hopefully!

It is very much winter in Australia at the moment, and it is absolutely freeezing! Nevertheless, I spend a lot of my time indoors – in heated rooms – so I am able to get away with wearing a t-shirt at times. Layers are recommended though, because you do not want to go outside with just a t-shirt on in this kind of weather! (Seriously, I tried and it was no fun at all).

Winter is fast approaching.

Yoyo my lovelies!

Yes, it’s that time of the year again, winter is fast approaching. Despite the fact that it’s still April, and technically it’s autumn, I am already beginning to feel the chill. I’ve added an extra doona, started putting my electric blanket on before I go to bed and stocked up on some winter clothing. I went shopping the other day and bought scarves, beanies, a new pair of jeans and a vest that I am absolutely in love with! Now I’m all ready for the freezing months ahead – hot chocolates, soups and winter coats here I come!

What else is new in my life I hear you ask…erm..well, nothing much really. Uni is the same, except for now I am enjoying it much more because I have established a fairly good routine, and I’m getting used to the commuting and appalling public transport – the amount of times I have had to sit on the ground on the train! Sad yet happy news, one of my best biddies is leaving the country for 8 months in a couple of weeks! I am excited for her, yet sad, I don’t want her to leave! But it just means the next couple of weeks will be jammed packed with fun activities – going to spend as much time with her as I possibly can!!

This outfit is great for those chilly autumn days!

I adore my new vest, so much so, I’ve labelled the purchase as one of my best investments of the year! Get it? hehe I’m really funny. Clearly. But jokes aside, it is a lovely garment, very warm, comfortable and chic…and it is actually a mens vest! Not going to lie, I have seen many boys around uni wearing them, and they looked so good I was inspired to get my own. And I love it! You’ll find that a lot of my clothes are from the mens section and that is because of three main reasons.

1) Cheaper than women clothing

2) Better quality

3) Just as awesome on a gal

So, on that note, I best be off. I have just started watching Game of Thrones – the most addictive show! Do not watch it if you have things you’d like to accomplish because unless you have amazing self-control, you probably won’t get them done!

Adios

I swear I’ve been busy.

HOLA!

Feels like forever since I last posted, yet it was only a week ago. It just so happens that it was  the busiest and most stressful week! It was chock-a-block full of assignments, tests, extra readings, piano lessons, piano practice, lectures and tutes…I’m still trying to recover from it all! It’s so nice to sit down with a cup of tea and spend some quality time with the internet.

This outfit I wore last night for a nice dinner with my dad and his family. It was so good to see him as he recently moved to Queensland for work!

Lipstick – Lime Crime Opaque, Airborne Unicorn

Things that I’m absolutely loving at the moment include Lime Crime lipstick and local Melbourne band Animaux!

I recently purchased this lipstick and I adore it! The colour is simply beautiful, and the lipstick itself applies so well – very smooth indeed. Also, the packaging is so adorable; it has a unicorn on it! I love unicorns. In fact, here’s a little confession – don’t get too excited – I have a purple unicorn pillow pet called Legolas. Pillow pet’s are the best and I am a huge fan of Lord of the Rings, my whole family is a little bit obsessed to say the least.

Animaux is one of my favourite bands at the moment. This septet has the best vibe and such good tunes, I just can’t get enough! I highly recommend you listen to them, because they are simply rad. Everyone get on it! http://www.facebook.com/animaux.music?fref=ts

So, I promise to post again soon, this week is going to be much more cruisy, so no excuses!

Adios!

Procrastinating again.

Howdy! Yes, so I still haven’t done the essay I mentioned in my previous post…Yeah, I will get on that. Right after I finish this post. I swear.

The last couple of days have been fairly busy – not in academic terms *looks guiltily at the ground* – but I have definitely had a ball! I think it is about time I mentioned that I have pretty cool friends. In fact, you can’t get much cooler than them. Lately, we’ve had tea parties, dnm sesh’s, played Tony Hawk on the xbox and rocked out to some pretty sweet soul music. Yesterday I went skating with my sister and her friends which was cute, but I can’t wait to go on some sk8 d8s with my frands: That will happen soon I hope. I’ll keep you updated on the sitch and post some nice snaps.

Moving on – this outfit is something I wore to a friend’s birthday party a couple of weeks back.  Meg’s 17th was such fun! Also, Meg is one cool cat and also a blogger: I’ll post a link below to her blog – you should really check it out, definitely inspired me to start my blog!

I’m really into flower crowns at the moment. The one in this outfit was my Abuelita’s (grandma). She made it for her wedding and I absolutely adore it! I’ve also made a few of my own which will probably feature in future posts. And, I’m currently getting one custom made by my friend – she makes absolutely gorgeous flower crowns and I’m so excited for the finished product!

Ok, now I really should get going with that essay, it is due tomorrow after all! Always leaving things to the last minute *sigh*.

Until next time, drea

p.s check out Meg’s blog! http://meggymoo0.blogspot.com.au/

A legitimate post.

Hey all! Firstly, apologies! Since starting this blog in March, I have only posted one thing and it’s now April…oops! I don’t know if it was the best idea to start this blog the day before I started Uni, because I have had no time to post at all. So, that’s my excuse – sorry ; from now on, I solemnly swear that I will post regularly!

How is Uni? Well – thanks for asking (I know because I read your mind) – to be honest, it is a lot harder than I thought! When I was in Year 12, everyone would tell me that I was undertaking the hardest year of schooling and that the first year of Uni would be so much easier – it would be a “breeze”. So, I blame all of those people who said this would be a “cruisy” year for giving me preconceived ideas of what the year would actually be like. Currently, I am swamped with many assessments and things I am supposed to be doing: again I am procrastinating through this blog as I am actually meant to be studying for a Spanish test and writing a history primary source analysis! Oh, well. I’ll do it, eventually.

Right, so here is my first official post in regards to fashion. I wouldn’t really describe myself as a fashionista. I just enjoy experimenting with various styles.

I wore this a couple of weeks ago to a Spanish Festival – the rocio – that I attended in Heathcote (regional Victoria). This outfit is a bit relaxed and casual: Great for Uni or a chilled weekend. It’s all about being cool whilst being comfortable!

My Doc Martens are my pride and joy. They are my absolute favourite purchase of all time! They are extremely versatile and go with every outfit! I cannot stress my love for them enough, and I highly recommend that everyone has some in their wardrobes. I recently bought a second pair of which I also love dearly. I consider them an investment – they will last for years and they never go out of fashion! They are perfection.

Anywho, I think I better get started on this essay, so I best finish up!

Adios mis amigos

Hello!

Hello! So, in case you haven’t read my bio, and considering this is my first post, I believe an introduction is in order.

Hi, my name is Andrea (pronounced un-dre-ah) *shakes your hand warmly* and I’m a Uni student from Melbourne, Australia, with an Argentinian/Irish background. I enjoy playing the piano and dancing flamenco, and spend a lot of my time “studying” whilst on Youtube and Tumblr. I have always wanted to start a blog, but didn’t know where to begin! So I thought now would be the best time as I’m beginning a new chapter in my life – #Unilyfe. My blog ‘De Mi’ – meaning ‘Of Me’ in español – is basically (as suggested through the title) all about my life; fashion, makeup, music, interests…the lot! Now, why would I think you’d be interested in my life? Well, I don’t really. I’m not special or anything, however let’s face it, you’re probably supposed to be doing something right now and any distraction will suffice – well voila, that’s what I’m here for! You can procrastinate away whilst I document my life! Pretty good combo, eh?

Anywho, I’d best be off… I hope you return to my blog (if you’re miraculously on here in the first place!).

Adios!

Andrea aka drea (pronounced dray)
